Over the next few weeks I will be sharing a series of tutorials that demonstrate how I carve a Turned Hitty with a dremel.
When I acquired my lathe, another carver asked me if I had considered turning a Hitty. This started me on my path to creating turned Hittys.
The tutorials will illustrate how to carve the Hitty with a dremel using various bits. In a later post I will show which bits I use, and explain what areas I use them for when carving.

One can follow the same techniques using a knife also. A knife will give much greater detail than a dremel bit, but I mainly want to show that one can create a beautiful Hitty even if they have physical limitations (like I once had) which makes holding a knife very difficult.

Sanding the sides, chest, back and V-Joint down to proper size.
Carving the upper leg.

Carving the lower arm.
Separating the face area from the hair area.
Carving simple curls.
